My Story
This is the translated text from my introduction video for Axis.
My name is Rafik,
I'm 22 years old, and as you can see, I'm a Muslim. My biggest talents are public speaking and video editing. Being good at both editing and storytelling really comes in handy and I need to combine those two to truly grow.
Personal growth is one of my goals, and it's something I want to share with others. I want to inspire people, motivate them, and help them realize that every moment matters.
By that, I mean the principles of Islam. I might not be able to do everything, since I use a wheelchair. Living with a disability isn't always easy, but I actually see that as one of my strengths.
Many people with disabilities give up, or don’t have the right people around them. I want to show that it is possible, that a lot is achievable.
Whether it's going to a regular school, getting in shape and staying active within your limits, getting your driver’s license, or just traveling to Morocco for a vacation, all of it is possible.
And people need to understand that.
On this website, Social Movie Academy, you can find some of Rafik's filming and directing work. He is still learning and growing in the process, with the goal of reaching a professional level.
Rafik dreams of making a documentary and is inviting filmmakers to help him bring it to life. If you're interested in joining the project, you can sign up by filling out the contact form.
